Statement of Faith
While appreciative of our Southern Baptist Heritage, we have avoided serving tradition at the expense of what is Biblical, effective and efficient.

We believe in salvation by faith in Jesus Christ who died on the cross as the substitute for our sin.

We believe in the authority of scripture and its power to provide direction and purpose for our lives.

We practice baptism by immersion as an outward expression of the inward decision to place our faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that Christians should develop in their faith and be committed to a life of personal devotion to God. Commitment is expressed through corporate and private worship, participation in small group Bible study, meaningful service in a ministry, giving financially in a God-honoring way and intentionally introducing others to a personal relationship with God.

We believe these statements to be truths which God has revealed to mankind so that man may know God:

1. The Scriptures:

We believe the Scriptures were written by men who were inspired by God for that purpose. The Scriptures are infallible and without error. They are authoritative in revealing God's character, His salvation for mankind, the principles by which God directs men to live, and any subject which they address.

2. Sovereign God:

We believe in the only living and true God. He is the Creator of the entire Universe and is personal, spiritual, infinitely Holy, absolute and exists in the three (3) persons of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three (3) persons are eternal and equal in power and glory, having the same attributes, yet separate, but without division of nature or essence. God the Father is all-loving and all-wise. God the Son laid aside the glory of His divinity to take the form of a sinless man to be all mankind's substitute for sin. God the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, righteousness and judgment, indwells believers in Jesus Christ, and bestows spiritual gifts for the equipping of the saints.

3. Man and Salvation:

We believe all men have sinned in failing to do all that God desires. A person cannot exist in this world without sin, because it is a spiritual characteristic of the entire race. No effort by man can produce righteousness before God. Through faith man, drawn by the Holy Spirit, may accept the grace of God provided through the redemptive death of Christ. Christ came as both God and man and as such was Mediator, Sacrifice and Redeemer to bring to God those who believe. Salvation manifests itself in Justification, Experiential Sanctification, and Glorification. Justification occurs at the time one receives Christ as personal Savior, and the Holy Spirit causes spiritual rebirth and indwells the believer. Experiential sanctification is the process in which the believer grows in grace toward conformity with Jesus Christ. Glorification is the final redemptive experience occurring when the believer comes into the presence of God in Heaven.

4. Further Statements:

These statements are not exhaustive; they are given in order to emphasize the foundations of our faith. The Holy Scriptures will be the final authority in all matters of doctrine.
