The church began in 1956 on 2 acres of land on Hwy 74 in Evergreen, Colorado. The church grew and built facilities over the years, but remained a small, yet vibrant ministry in the mountain community. In the early 80's, the church sold its property to the Evergreen Post Office and bought 30 acres 1/4 mile off Hwy 74 near Evergreen Lake. The congregation pledged and sacrificially gave over $300,000 over a 3 year period to relocate and build the facility on the present site.

In the early 90's the church began a remodeling program that was completed in the first half of 2000.  FBCE now has a beautiful auditorium seating approximately 160, with offices, education space, and 23 acres of prime land in the heart of Evergreen on which to grow and expand.

The church has constructed an outdoor worship area in a natural amphitheater located on the property and holds outdoor services from late Spring to early Fall. The church also has an outdoor basketball court, and children's playground area. Parking is paved.
